With the goal of intensifying awareness on head lice infestation issues, Lamoiyan Corporation, maker of Licealiz Head Lice Treatment Shampoo, recently kicked off a series of Pharmacy Assistants Forums, in partnership with Drugstores Association of the Philippines (DSAP).
Entitled “The Truth about Lice”, the series gathered around 400 pharmacy assistant representatives from DSAP Laguna, East NCR (National Capital Region), South NCR, and Pampanga Chapters as part of Lamoiyan Corporation’s Kilusang Kontra Kuto (Movement Against Lice Infestation), a public health education campaign that aims to promote the correct way of preventing and treating pediculosis or head lice infestation.

Pediatrician, Dr. Olivia Camille F. Reyes, headed the discussion by sharing information regarding commonly experienced pediculosis issues, along with effective head lice infestation treatments and preventive measures. Dr. Reyes also tackled misconceptions frequently associated with head lice, and how it could negatively affect the welfare of lice-infested children.
“For the past years, Lamoiyan Corporation has been constantly educating the public, especially parents about head lice infestation issues through our Kilusang Kontra Kuto (KKK) campaign. Eventually, the campaign became bigger through the help of our industry partners like DSAP,” shared Lamoiyan Corporation Marketing Director Bing Cavestany.
“We work in close coordination with DSAP and had the opportunity to focus our efforts into providing tools and educating pharmacy assistants, who commonly interact with people who have head lice infestation concerns,” she added.

Aside from organizing health forums in communities, Lamoiyan Corporation also provides free shampooing activities and lectures for children, parents and teachers in schools through the Nationwide Oplan Alis Kuto, an annual caravan that travels across the country.
