The Chan Lim Family of Artists is best known for their Asian-themed art with particular focus on Chinese Brush Painting. The family has been actively engaged in the arts for more than half a century to date.  The three generations of Chan Lim family use a multitude of media, styles and techniques to incorporate Western into Eastern Art. The family actively develops and promotes Chinese brush painting in the Philippines and abroad.

Mr. Chan Lim, the Patriarch originally worked with oil and watercolor in canvas.  He recently ventured into other types of media such as ceramic and porcelain plates, Asian lanterns and fans to blend Western and Eastern techniques.

Numerous art workshops, seminars, exhibits and on-the-spot painting demonstrations were conducted in here in the Philippines and abroad have been done by the Chan Lims because of their passion in the art.

The Cham Lim family aims to create art that does not exclude any media; they have continuously pushed the envelope on the type of media used for the Chinese brush. Their art subjects included flora, fauna, landscape and even portraits.  These themes can be seen in most of the family’s art, as well as their students. The family is one of the few remaining notable Chinese brush painting artists in the country today and is sought after in this field.

For that day, every one who attended has become a student for a day and was taught the art of using Chinese brush.  Each of the attendee got their own set of art materials and show off their own creative side. Mr. Robin Padilla, a close friend of the family graced the event.  Robin is also a student of Mr. Chan Lim in martial arts. The entire artist student for a day also had an opportunity to take their photo with Robin Padilla which made the event more memorable. Robin has been a patron of Mr. Cham Lim and believes in the value of arts

Classes are conducted in the family studio located in Pasig City.  Their paintings can be found in private collections across the globe.
