Month-long Sustainable Seafood Awareness at Marriott Manila

It was an amazing night, to be able witness and be part of the Seafood Awareness launch at Marriot Manila.

To be able to taste delectable dishes made by prestigious hotel in one venue is an opportunity that I will not miss. Each mouthwatering dish was prepared to perfection for the delight of the attendees.

Marriott Manila takes the lead on the nationwide Sustainable Seafood advocacy by dedicating the whole of February to raise awareness on this environmental campaign. Aligned to its brand eco-campaign of “Sprit to Preserve”, Marriott Manila has long been actively supporting responsible seafood sourcing, and is now even more driven to place upfront special seafood dishes across its restaurant.

“I am proud to have Marriott at the forefront of a global effort. As a chef, I do feel responsible of ensuring what we offer our guests are both high-quality and from sustainable sources so we have more years of great food and satisfied guests,” says Executive Chef Meik Brammer.


Dine to Sustain

Every buffet-goers favorite, Ocean’s Harvest at Marriott Café, goes bigger this February. Seafood on ice selections are twice as delicious with choices of Whole Tiger Prawns, New Zealand Mussels, White Shell Clams, Curacha and Slipper Lobsters. Hand-pick your crustaceans and have it cooked quickly your way. Sailing through the Asian corner are the rare Live Mud Crabs and Abalone which are best eaten with their home-made sauces such as salted egg, X.O. and Singaporean chili. More selections at the same price of Php 2,500 nett every Friday and Saturday evenings.

Main Course: Barbecue Wahoo Mackerel Asian barbecue glazed Wahoo, baby corn tempura, pineapple salsa, brown butter-popcorn puree
Soup: Seafood Consomme Cuttlefish linguini, butter poached Selva shrimp, coconut-lime custard, spicy ginger relish

February is best known to be the love month, so make your date night more memorable by taking part on a good cause while indulging on top-notch dishes by Cru Steakhouse. Highly-acclaimed Cru Steakhouse prepared a 4-course dinner that includes the Barbecue Wahoo Mackerel which is the most sustainable fish. The set dinner is Php 2,300 nett, but the Barbecue Wahoo Mackerel can be ordered a la carte at Php 990 nett.

And if you happen to drop by quickly at Marriott Manila, better grab from their “Sea Bites” menu at the Greatroom. Easy-to-eat snacks like House-smoked Wahoo Mackerel Sandwich, Spicy Yellowfin Tuna Tartar, and Kataifi Wrapped Selva Shrimps.  These will keep you company whether you are lounging for a business meeting, finishing up a presentation, or catching up with friends.
